Senior Software Engineer

This position will play a major role in the stabilization and modernization of our FosterParentCollege.com training platform.


  • Java 11+, Java Server Pages (JSP), JSP Standard Tag Library (JSTL) and Java Servlets 
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment (Ubuntu, Rocky) including creating, configuring, debugging and maintaining Bare Metal Servers and Virtual Machines 
  • Application servers (Tomcat, Caucho Resin) 
  • Relational databases (Postgres) and SQL 
  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming 
  • Proficiency with Git and GitLab/GitHub 
  • Software Development Lifecycle and best practices 
  • Work with limited supervision 

Nice to have 

  • Media streaming 
  • Containerization (e.g., Docker) 
  • Modern Front-end development (React, Express.js, Node.js) 
  • API development, Spring Boot 
  • Jira 
  • Security compliance and best practices
